PAPER OBSERVATIONS
FANTASTIC AND STRANGE OBSERVATIONS MADE WITH ONLY PAPER AND FLASH.
This photo is paper that has been cut at the bottom, then, rolled into a cylinder shape giving a brush looking object. I made this because it was a shape that is big and eye-catching, the many strands adds effect. I think the photo quality is pretty impressive as the focus defines only some of the strands giving the photo some sort of contrast. I think if I were to have concentrated the focus better to blur out the background the photo would be outstanding, or if I were make the background one colour.
This is a close up photo of a scrunched up piece of paper with a background of white paper also. I thought of the scrunched up piece of paper because it gives a lot of detail. I simply scrunched a piece of paper and placed the camera in an angle where the paper ball was to the left of the lens, doing that with flash gives a great shadow effect. I think I could have focused the camera more and captured a lot more detail. Overall I'm quite impressed.
This is s photo of a crafty, cut piece of paper, its an A4 piece of paper folded in half with slits inserted. I made this photo by folding the paper in half and cutting shapes into the crease then taking a flash photo in between the two sides. I did this because the camera will be able to pick up the details of the edges, giving the photo more depth. I think the quality of the photo is outstanding because it picks up every piece of detail and has a brilliant shadow. I think the photo could be better if I were to have a coloured light coming through the slits.
This is a photo of a cut piece of paper being rolled into a cylinder. I made it so I could make my angles more vastly spread, hence having a birds eye view on this photo. I made this photo by cutting an A4 piece of paper and rolling it into a cylinder the putting that craft onto a white background which, with flash, creates a defining shadow. I think the quality of the photo is pretty good, the shadow, angle and slits makes the photo more interesting. If the photo had a greyscale filter the photo would be perfect.
This photo is a mix of different materials of paper, in this case its tissue paper and A4 paper, both scrunched. Like a previous annotated photo I made this photo by scrunching then unravelling the materials to perfectly catch the creased details. I took this picture with flash to produce more shadows and definitions, this gives the quality of the photo more to thrive off of. I think if I puts some lights to come through the thinner paper the photo would be more interesting.
This is a photo of cut paper being layered on top of each over. I made this photo so that the camera could thrive off of catching the cut, rough edges. I created this photo by cutting the two pieces of paper then layering them onto of each over, making sure the holes are intercepting each over. I think the quality of the photo is great considering the edges are caught on camera, with flash which means a beautiful shadow. I think it could have been more impactful with lights proceeding through the slits.
